Keep Breathing

>> Friday, March 18, 2011

It's been some crazy weeks, let me tell you!  Well, wish I could.  This is Friday and I hope to have time to work on a blog post this weekend.  God's speaking to me lots through my B90x Bible reading.  We only have 14 days left.  I read in Luke last night.

I'm going to leave a song with you today for this awesome Friday.  Kerrie Roberts was in concert at our church Wednesday.  I didn't get to go.  The past two weeks fell in on me.  I've been running around busy busy and my body finally said - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!  You have to remember, I went from like 10 miles an hour maybe to 100:)  That's a major change and I'm loving it but I also have to let it rest:)  Anyway, this song is, Keep Breathing, and is very appropriate for now and it's awesome and I keep listening over and over and bought it on I Tunes last night even.  I hope you enjoy and it ministers to you.

Happy Friday!

I Will be True to the Promise I Have Made

>> Monday, March 14, 2011

Here it is Monday morning and God is still in control.  He didn't get knocked off while we slept or anything.  Isn't it good to know that HE is one constant in our lives?  I woke up humming this Steven Curtis Chapman song.  Where that popped up, I don't know, but it's perfect for today and this time in our history.  I hope you take time and listen.  If you didn't read my last post, I hope you'll do that, too.  The present might look pretty bleak right now with what's going on in the world and here on the home front but God is still here.  He's promised to always be with us.

Lord, please be with the people of Japan.  What horrible devastation we see on television.  We can't even imagine.  You've promised to be with them.  Help the masses come to know You.  Show Your mighty hand in miracles.  We stay glued to the television and we can pray.  That's all many of us can do.  Please act on our prayers.  Thank You, Lord.  Amen.

Okay, I'll let Steven talk now.  Happy Monday, everyone.

God's Rule Prevails!

>> Sunday, March 13, 2011

Some days are like living in a Norman Rockwell painting; others... ummm...aren't.  Friday we woke up to a normal everyday until we turned on the news:  Japan earthquake and then the tsunami.

No matter what the circumstances, no matter what it LOOKS like, God is STILL in control.  Even though it looks like nature has had it's way, God is there.  Even though decisions are made and it seems to be no way out, God knows and has much better plans.

"Though the cherry trees don't blossom
and the strawberries don't ripen,

Though the apples are worm-eaten

   and the wheat fields stunted,

Though the sheep pens are sheepless
   and the cattle barns empty,
I'm singing joyful praise to God.
I'm turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God.
Counting on God's Rule to prevail,
I take heart and gain strength.
I run like a deer.
I feel like I'm king of the mountain!

Habakkuk 3:17-19 (The Message)

We don't live in a painting.  Life is full of problems.  Full of tornadoes, volcanoes, bankruptcies, thieves, child abuse... Don't get me wrong.  It has good moments, too.  The only thing is, when we're going through the bad, the good tends to get forgotten.

This is our reminder.  When reading in B90X, the little book of Habakkuk captured my attention with these verses.   Even though life might be falling down around us- God is still in control.  He is still worthy to be praised!  We can still sing praises to Him!  When we do, God lifts us up and out of the bad and He sets us at His feet.  There, we gain strength and we are able to face all we have to face when realty sneaks in again.  The sky is still black as can be but there is still joy in the Lord.  He NEVER changes.  "I'm turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God. I didn't exactly do cartwheels this weekend but I did play tennis:)

God's rule prevails!  Remember that.  Counting on God's rule to prevail, we can take heart and gain strength!  I'm counting on that today in a friend's life.  When one of our brothers or sister's in Christ hurt, don't we all hurt?

Do any of you need prayer?  Now is the time to step up and do exactly that.  Satan has reared his ugly head in too many ways to count.  Now is the time to fight back.  We can pray here on this blog or you can email me privately at lauryhubrich@faithwriters.net    Let's remind Satan that he did NOT win, will NOT win, will NEVER win:)

"For God hath not given us
the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7 (King James)

How to Live Life

How can we stand up before God, according to Micah 6:8

"How can I stand up before God
and show proper respect to the high God? (6:6)

"It's quite simple:

Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don't take yourself too seriously--
take God seriously." (Micah 6:8 - The Message)

Enjoy your Thursday and ask God how
He will use you today for His glory!
